Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a child of a mixed-race family from South London in England. Her father is a Nigerian-Swiss, and her mother is English. She was raised in a south London council estate and attended The Brit School at age 14. At the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art was where she received a BA degree in acting. While at school she appeared in several stage productions, such as King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe launched her acting career in the movie Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had appearances in guest roles for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film came from the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred opposite Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. Her success led her to play Elisha in a single-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. Later, she appeared in six episodes Trexx & Flipside playing the character of Ollie. In 2008, the actress was offered Bambi, the lead role on ITV2's comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was also the main character on How to lose friends & betray people and be apathetic, which premiered on Sony Pictures Entertainment back in 2008. She was also on the screen in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path written by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009 with the drama The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes before being removed from The CW. Ashley Davenport, a character on ABC's Revenge drama series, was cast as Ashley Davenport. Madekwe's departure from the series was confirmed in May 2013. After two years as the main character she was a guest in the opening episode of season 3. From 2014 to the year 2016, she appeared on Salem on the CW as Tituba. Then, in June of 2012 Madekwe was married to her long-time love, actor Iddo Goldberg. They've collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl and he also played a part with her on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for the Gemini Award, comes from an extensive Hamilton family. Her parents Roy and Patty, as well as her brothers Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. Ashley's brothers were all extremely athletic, and they played baseball as well as hockey in the winter as well as in the summer. Her childhood was spent in stadiums and played baseball. Ashley did not walk; instead, she danced. At age two and half, she found Baby Ballet. Ashley was enthralled by dance immediately after that. Ashley was a competitor in tap, jazz and ballet in the high divisions. Ashley took home the best soloist honor at each major dance contest, which included International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among some.
